Parents' Fund

The Parents' Fund at NDSU was established as a way for parents of current and past students to support the University in ways that tuition and fees cannot. Gifts to the Parents' Fund assist three specific areas on campus that benefit your son or daughter every day:

          ORIENTATION & STUDENT SUCCESS

THE NDSU LIBRARY
The Library is the third largest in North Dakota and is one of the most technologically advanced. It houses historical archives, books and periodicals necessary for students to complete research and school projects.

PROGRAMS:
  • Technology - students have access to databases, electronic journals, Internet resources.
  • References - materials to conduct research and find information on a wide range of topics
  • Government Documents - access to thousands of documents
  • Interlibrary Loan - access to libraries throughout the country
  • Books & Periodicals - available to all students, faculty & staff
  • HOW GIFTS ARE USED:
  • Purchase additional reference materials, such as books and databases
  • Purchase books for the general collection
  • Supplement equipment budget to purchase additional computers and upgrade technology Return to the top
  • CAREER CENTER
    The Career Center's mission is to provide a comprehensive resource 
    center whose purpose is to connect students and alumni with employers. 
    It helps students find permanent jobs after graduation, using the latest 
    technology available and it links students to co-operative education 
    opportunities with many businesses.  Even after your son or daughter 
    graduates from NDSU, they can utilize the Career Center's technology 
    and expertise to find another job.

  • Permanent Jobs - Connects graduating students with prospective employers
  • Cooperative Education - Connects students with companies that give them real world experience prior to graduation.
  • Technology - Center utilizes internet and technology to connect students with employers
  • Career Counseling & Advising - offer advice, resume workshops, interview tips, etc. to help prepare students for future employment opportunities.

    Programs designed to meet the needs of first-year students and 
    ease the transition into college.
    PROGRAMS:
    
  • New Student Orientation - held during the summer, this is the opportunity for incoming students to register for classes, answer questions, see campus and more.
  • Skills for Academic Success Course
  • Welcome Week - held the first week of school, sponsor all kinds of activities for students to learn more about NDSU and have fun.
  • Family Weekend - held early in the fall, this program invites all parents to campus to spend the weekend with their son/ daughter, tour campus, and take in various events like athletics, concerts and theatre productions.
  • Super Tutor - a free group-tutoring program available to all students. It focuses specifically on courses that students take their first two years at NDSU. HOW GIFTS ARE USED:
  • Help pay for various Welcome Week activities
  • Help increase salary pool for student tutors
