Merit Based Scholarships

When the best and the brightest are present in North Dakota State's classrooms, a more stimulating environment is created, energizing both the faculty and the students to engage the mind with new questions and more innovative solutions. Endowed scholarships are essential in order to attract these students to NDSU.

In 2010, over 1,600 prospective freshmen met the academic requirements for one of NDSU merit-based scholarships. However, due to limited resources fewer than half of those academic high achievers could be offered scholarship assistance to encourage their enrollment at NDSU.

The expansion of merit-based scholarship programs will ensure that North Dakota State University can be competitive with other major universities in the recruitment of these academic high achievers. Additionally, enrollment of these students raises the overall academic profile and status of the University, thus giving higher visibility to the quality of education available at a North Dakota public university.
