Teaching Endowments
Throughout its history, North Dakota State University has committed itself to its mission as a land-grant institution; to provide teaching, research and public service to the people of North Dakota and the Nation. This dedication to excellence in all of the University's colleges, departments and programs is what sets it apart from other institutions and provides a unique and challenging education experience for its students.
The assets of a great university are a combination of intelligent, hardworking students, exciting opportunities for research and excellent resources and facilities for every kind of study.
But the heart of a truly great university is its outstanding faculty. It is the stimulating professor who inspires students to explore new ideas and fosters the joy of discovery. And, above all, it is the faculty who embody the university's pursuit of knowledge and dedication to public service.
There is no more effective means of enabling NDSU to compete in recruiting and retaining top academic talent than by establishing endowed faculty positions. These endowments will allow the University to continue to build upon its existing high level of teaching and research by acknowledging the excellence of our current faculty and by attracting instructors of national prominence to teach at North Dakota State University.
North Dakota State University has identified five teaching endowment projects which require private contributions. These new endowments will afford the University's prominent teachers and scholars the freedom to carry their work forward. Each of these projects can be incorporated into any of the colleges, departments or programs housed within the University.
